Our client was going about having a replacement front door, however, the installers flagged that brown mastic sealant was present on the existing door.
Brown mastic sealant, which is known to contain asbestos, was often utilised in the installation and repair of windows and doors on properties of all types for a number of years. It’s particularly common to see it on those with older wooden doors.
Our team were able to go in before the fitters and remove the residue and mastic from around the doorframe in order to allow the new uPVC door and frame to be fitted.
