Why is asbestos fibre air monitoring required?
Air monitoring or air testing is needed for a number of reasons:
- Certifying clearance after asbestos has been removed
- Ensuring leaks do not occur during asbestos removal – air monitoring is carried out directly outside of an asbestos removal enclosure
- Providing reassurance that nobody has been placed at risk – As this suggests this monitoring is to reassure you or others if you have reason to belive that there could be a risk from asbestos fibre
- Personal Testing: Sometimes referred to as Personal Sampling. This air monitoring is carried out on people individually, It is used to monitor the personal air being breathed in during activity which may involve asbestos
